What Does Uni-care Dental Insurance Cover

Different dental plans provide different levels of coverage. We highly recommend checking in with your plan and provider to get the most accurate information about your coverage. That being said, our team can also help. If you give us a call and provide us your insurance information, we can take a look for you into your specific coverage. Generally speaking, Uni-care Dental like many other dental insurance plans divides different procedures into groups based on their complexity as well as their medical necessity. For example, basic/preventative care would include two cleanings/exams a year as well as fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and dental x-rays. Restorative dentistry is going to cover procedures like fillings, root canals, dental bridges, etc.

How Does Uni-Care Dental Insurance Work?

As stated above, different procedures are going to be categorized in different ways. Uni-care does mention that it provides orthodontic coverage as well as few cosmetic exclusions. Many dental insurances only have coverage for basic/preventative, emergency dentistry, and restorative dentistry. That being said it is important to understand how different dental plans work. Co-pays refer to the amount of money you will pay alongside your insurance. For example, some plans might cover certain procedures 50% or up to a certain amount of money, the patient is then expected to cover the remainder. Another thing to consider is your deductible. Plans with deductibles require the patient to pay a certain amount out of pocket before the coverage begins.

What Do I Do If My Plan Doesn't Cover A Procedure

If you have a dental plan that doesn’t provide coverage or doesn’t provide enough coverage for a specific service you need, you might want to consider your other payment options. Here at All Star Dental we want to make sure patients have exactly what they need. We provide payment plans and financing through CareCredit. For more information please contact our team.
