That is why we take many of the big Dental Insurance plans and provide other payment options for patients who either do not have dental insurance or who do not have the coverage they need for a specific procedure. It is important that everyone is able to see a dentist no matter their age. And it is even more important that you can get procedures that protect and restore your smile like fillings, root canals, bridges, crowns, etc. These procedures often protect your other teeth from further infection. What Does Anthem Dental Insurance Cover
Anthem Dental Insurance provides an extensive PPO network. PPO insurance stands for “Preferred Provider Organization” and means that people with these plans can often find coverage across a larger network of providers. In fact, PPOs often allow you to get coverage both in and out of your network even without a referral, but usually trade off is that you have less coverage or higher premiums. By contrast an HMO plan which stands for Health Maintenance Organization provides more coverage or lower rates but is more selective with where you can go, and if you are out-of-network you will likely not have coverage without a referral. PPO plans are recommended for people who prefer having more options for providers or in situations where the HMO plans do not cover your existing provider.
How Does Dental Insurance Work?
Dental insurance differs based on the plan. It is always the best idea to look up your specific plan details. That being said there are a few commonalities that are helpful to understand regarding dental insurance verbiage. As mentioned above you might have an HMO or a PPO plan. If you are using Anthem, you likely have single or family PPO plan that allows you to work in and out of your network throughout the country. With PPO plans you might deductibles and co-pay. Co-pay refers to an amount or percentage you will pay alongside your insurance. For example, if your insurance provides 50% co-pay on a procedure you will need to pay the other half. Or if their co-pay covers $500 for a procedure that costs $900 you will have to pay the remaining $400. By contrast, a deductible is a set amount of money you need to pay before insurance starts coverage. For instance if your deductible for a certain procedure is $300, you would need to pay that much before insurance starts. It is possible to have both a deductible and a co-pay, so make sure to check your policy.
What Other Payment Options Are There?
If you don’t have insurance, your insurance doesn’t cover a family member, or your insurance doesn’t provide the coverage you need for a specific procedure, you are not out of luck. There are other payment options offered here at All Star Dental. For example, we provide financing options and payment plans that can help make paying for dental services easier.
