There are a lot of ways to help your kid’s oral health and to help them get stronger and healthier teeth. Including brushing and flossing their teeth, regular dental check-ups, and avoiding sugary candy. If you want the best and easiest way to help your child with their dental health, nutrition is the easiest way to do that. These are the top 5 foods that according to the American Dental Association (ADA) will help them have healthier and stronger teeth.

Best Foods for Healthy Teeth in Children

    Apples

Apples are great to add to your child’s diet if they aren’t already eating apples. Apples have a lot of vitamins that are good for your child’s overall health, but the process of chewing and eating the apple will remove plaque from their teeth. Celery and carrots also will help remove plaque while being eaten, so adding these crunchy snacks to their diet will help their teeth.

    Spinach

Green veggies like spinach will help give your child their daily source of iron, but it will also give them a lot of their needed antioxidants. Spinach is full of beta-carotene which is great because it helps strengthen enamel which is what protects teeth.

    Salmon & Fish

Fish are full of omega-3 which is great for heart health but they also have a lot of vitamin D which helps keep not only teeth but also jawbones strong.

    Oranges

Oranges will help provide your child with vitamin C. If your kid isn’t getting enough vitamin C then they can contract scurvy which will cause swollen and bleeding gums.

    Yogurt

Calcium is essential for healthy teeth, and yogurt is full of calcium. You can add berries or granola for added nutrition/fun for kids.
